Mary Hensel and George
George is a fun-loving man of a million moods, and can be dressed for any occasion. He is, of course, the whimsical hand drawn creation of Mary Hensel’s imagination, and he graces her custom greeting cards, placemats and t-shirts with his smile and his limitless sense of humor.
Over the past 26 years, Mary has persistently explored a wide variety of avenues for marketing her line of greeting cards and George themed products. She has successfully sold to local card shops and several national college groups, and she even had a popular line of military note cards for a while. Her many years of experience working with hospitals and healthcare groups also sparked the idea of using George as a way to encourage younger patients to share their feelings and better navigate the anxieties of a hospital stay.
We're delighted to have a line of mugs featuring Mary's original artwork and the many faces of George, the quirky little cartoon gentleman who keeps her company!

Mary in her office
Mary’s office is a cozy space, with a comfortable couch and a desk that sits in front of a window with a view to the back yard. Cups filled with pens of different colors are lined up along her work area and fresh paper is always handy. When she creates, Mary is surrounded by literally hundreds of faces of George, in every imaginable mood. And she’s inspired by the many colorful collectibles that fill her space and make her smile.
