Hello Friend!
I love books. Bookstores and libraries are two of my favorite places, and even just the way a new book smells makes me happy. My love of fantasy stories, filled to the brim with heroes and monsters and magic, comes from my dad. He had study shelves filled with books of fantasy and science fiction and I loved browsing his paperbacks when I was a kid.
The problem with my favorite genre is that it's often written in series. The good news is, characters that you grow to know and love are sure to be back over and over again in books two and three and on (think Harry Potter). The bad news is, although you always enjoy a bit of resolution in each book, you're also left hanging. The adventure is not over, the villains still lurk. And all you can do is wait for your favorite author to finish the next novel so you can find out how it all turns out.
If you think about it, each of us is in the middle of our own story. There are good guys and bad guys, challenges that we have to face, highs and lows that work to define our character.
Where are you in your story? Do you have a dream or a goal you're working towards? Are you facing challenges or are you making progress?
One reason I love my fantasy novels is that I know my hero will win out in the end. YOU are the hero in your story. There absolutely will be difficulty, hardship, sacrifices. Be patient! Okay, okay, I know it's not easy. But just like all heroes, you have your own unique skills, you WILL win! And the people you love will be cheering you on, excited to see what comes next.
